Composed for the considered eye

Each creation at Kherati Lall begins not with a brief, but with a vision. Glass, brass, crystal, silver pass through hands schooled in patience, shaped by an eye that has never once confused beauty with abundance. What emerges is a presence.

Kherati Lall Rakyan, founder, 1898

A continuum of confluence

Today, Kherati Lall continues to serve the world which values the crafted over the expedient.

In 1898, Kherati Lall Rakyan, a jeweller who understood adornment as a declaration rather than decoration, established his label. By the 1930s, it found its home on Janpath, New Delhi, where it has held court ever since.

For two-thirds of a century, Kherati Lall & Sons dressed royalty, politicians, and valued families in the finest jewels. When independence reshaped India and its tastes, the Rakyans anticipated the need for lighting.

Glass replaced gemstones, brass assumed the place of gold, and light became their medium.  The hand, however, precise, patient, incapable of compromise, remained entirely unchanged.

The language we speak

Every object begins as raw material: glass drawn from the furnace, brass awaiting the craftsman's hand, crystal whose brilliance must be earned. What transforms these is not technology, but technique accumulated over generations and incapable of being abbreviated.

Those who have come to us over the years have never asked us to be faster. Only to be right.
